Roxanne Martin is a senior at University High School. Her favorite subjects are English and History. Roxanne believes that history is fundamental in understanding human behavior. She believes that knowing about past events allows humans to learn from their mistakes to ensure a future with less of them. Roxanne knows it is our generation's responsibility to fix the flaws in our system. One of her biggest goals is to achieve happiness. She wants to pursue Journalism because she finds interest in research and comfort in understanding her community. She is interested in spreading her narrative on events and sharing her perspective on topics. During her career, she plans on being truthful and is mainly interested in Investigative Journalism and politics while also being interested in fashion and creative content. Roxanne will likely be sleeping or watching a good science fiction movie/show to spend her time. Her favorite book is Carrie, not only for the horror aspect but also for its connection to real-life issues such as bullying, trials people face, and womanhood. When asked about her favorite songs, she responded, “…a specific song that I enjoy right now is 'Two Slow Dancers' by Mitski. I’ve also been listening to 'No Tears Left to Cry' a lot recently.”
